News has come out that Microsoft will buy the social media firm 'Pinterest'. Pinterest has a market value of 51 billion. According to The Financial Times, Microsoft wants to buy Pinterest to build a portfolio of online communications on its cloud computing platform.

Microsoft has already bought several companies. Microsoft had previously bought LinkedIn for 26 billion and GitHub for 7.5 billion. Microsoft paid 7.5 billion to private gaming company Genimax last year. The company even tried to buy Tik Tok. But it did not work out.
Pinterest released its financial report for the last quarter of 2020 last year. According to the report, the company had a total revenue of 706 million.
In the United States alone, the company's annual revenue rose 67 percent to 582 million. International revenue rose 145 percent to 123 million. The number of Pinterest users also increased by 46 percent to more than 361 million.
