Number Of Account Openers In e-Sewa Has Crossed 4 Million, More Than One Lakh Agents Across The Country In 12 Years
Electronic payment service provider e-Sewa has entered its 12th year. Envisioning a cashless economy, e-Sewa launched Beta Version in 2009 and launched on January 25, 2010. It has become an important means of financial transactions.
e-SEWA has made the expansion of cashless business effective by reaching out to the ward level of most of the metropolises, municipalities and villages in the country.
The company has stated that the number of direct account openers has exceeded 4 million. It is said that about 15 million services are being provided indirectly through e-Sewa.
At present, e-Sewa has more than one lakh agents (e-Sewa Zones and Points) across the country. Similarly, the number of merchants has exceeded one lakh 85 thousand.
"We have succeeded in making mobile, which is limited only for communication, an important means of conducting financial transactions.
