India's Rs. 246 million assistance in Cultural Heritage building

India will provide Rs. 246 million for the reconstruction of three more cultural heritage projects for Lalitpur and Sindhupalchok districts. The agreement has been signed today by the Head of Development Partnership and Reconstruction Division of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Project Director of the Central Project Implementation Unit (Building) of the National Reconstruction Authority.

According to a press release issued by the Indian Embassy, ​​the three properties are Jestha Varna Mahavihar in Lalitpur, Sulijyang Gumba in Sindhupalchowk and Shermathang Gumba. The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage will provide technical assistance for the rehabilitation of Jestha Varna Mahavihar while the implementation of the remaining two projects will be assisted by the Central Project Implementation Unit (Building).

The Government of India has committed a total of 50 million for the protection, restoration and reconstruction of 28 cultural heritages in eight districts of Nepal.
