Post of Deputy Governor vacant in Rastra Bank
Deputy Governors of Nepal Rastra Bank have retired. Deputy Governor of the Bank Chintamani Siwakoti and Shivaraj Shrestha both retired from today (Tuesday). Siwakoti entered the National Bank in 2044 BS and Shrestha in 2046 BS.
Earlier, both of them were aspiring for the governorship but in the end, the government made the CEO of the Investment Board (Mahaprasad Adhikari) the governor of Rastra Bank. Shrestha had some controversies during his tenure. But he has been making controversial statements about not allowing himself to run for governor. In the end, he was cleared.
Siwakoti is seen as close to the CPN (Maoist) and Shrestha as close to the Nepali Congress. The post of Deputy Governor is now vacant in NRB. Deputy Governors will be members of the Board of Directors of NRB.
