Adding 5 new Industrial Zones [Historical Work]

Government is planning to start construction of five new industrial zones. A total of five industrial zones are being laid in Far West, Bagmati, Province 1 and Lumbini province.

The government is going to build an industrial zone in the far western state for the first time. The Prime Minister will leave for Kanchanpur on Monday to lay the foundation stone of this industrial zone. A detailed project report (DPR) of all the areas to be laid has been prepared, said Marina Chitrakar, senior officer of Industrial Area Management Limited ( IAML). According to him, most of the land in these areas is government land.

China-Nepal friendly industrial park:


The park is planned to be built in Damak Municipality of Jhapa, the home district of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in Gauradaha Municipality and a huge area of ​​1588 hectares including the land to be acquired from Kamal Village.

At current exchange rates, the park, with an investment of more than Rs 91 billion (US  786 million), will be built with financial support from the Chinese government. The goal is to complete the park in about 10 years by constructing it in four phases. The construction work of the park is about to be started by Lhasa Economic and Technical Development Zone Investment Development Company Limited.

An agreement has been reached with the Government of Nepal for the park to be used by the builder for 40 years. The detailed plan report (DPR) of the park, which will be handed over to the government again after 40 years, has been prepared and submitted to the Board of Investment.

The target is to provide employment to 45,000 people from this industrial park. The company has stated that the land acquisition of the park has reached the final stage.

The industrial park is expected to accommodate businessmen from Bhutan and Bangladesh along with Nepalese. The park located at a distance of 370 kilometers from Kathmandu will be constructed in four phases.


Mayurdhap Industrial zone

The decision to build an industrial zone in Mayurdhap of Makwanpur district was taken by the then Council of Ministers on March 22, 2008. There will be 62 industrial plots in this 300 bigha( local land measurement unit) industrial area. The size of each plot will be 7 to 14 ropanis( local land measurement unit). Industries like paint, manufacturing, plastic, pipe, cement etc. are expected to be established in this area.

The development of this industrial zone, which is targeted to be completed within five years, is estimated to cost Rs 7 billion. Similarly, it is estimated that 10,000 people will get direct and indirect employment. Similarly, the government has allocated 260 ropanis of land for the establishment of security printing.



Daizi Chhela Industrial Zone

As per the decision of the Council of Ministers of the government on March 22, 2009, Daizi Chhela Industrial zone will be established in the former district of Kanchanpur. It will extend to Chhela MuktakaMaiya Basti and Dheudathum Kholsa in the east of Kanchanpur district and Sazgad Khola in the west.

There will be 100 plots in this industrial area which will be developed in 900 bighas( local measurement unit). Accordingly, 23 plots have been allotted for small scale industries, 44 plots for medium scale industries and 44 plots for large scale industries. It is targeted to be completed in 5 years. The construction of this industrial zone is estimated to cost Rs. 9 billion.



Naubasta Industrial Zone

This industrial zone is also being developed in Banke district by the decision of the Council of Ministers. There will be 111 plots in this industrial zone spread over an area of ​​525 bighas( local measurement unit). The size of each plot will be 9 to 30 ropanis( local measurement unit. The total cost is estimated to be Rs. 8.88 billion.

The target is to provide employment to 20,000 people directly and indirectly after the operation of this industrial zone, which is targeted to be completed in five years. It is mentioned that service facilities will be provided in this industrial area as well as other industrial zones.


Motipur Industrial Zone

It has been decided to establish this industrial zone in Rupandehi of Lumbini as per the decision of the Council of Ministers. The area, which is targeted to be completed within five years, will expand to 813 bighas( local measurement unit). According to the study report, the construction of this area is estimated to cost Rs 12 billion.

There will be 262 plots within this industrial zone. There will be 92 plots for small scale industries, 51 plots for medium scale industries and 119 plots for large scale industries. It is mentioned that 30,000 people from this area will get employment  directly or indirectly.
