The process of setting up a solar energy project with a battery storage plant is well underway.
An agreement has been reached between the Office of the Board of Investment and Rigen Energy Singapore JVB to prepare a detailed feasibility study report for the establishment of a solar power project to be connected to a 250 MW capacity grid with a 40 MW capacity battery storage plant. As per the agreement, two projects will be constructed at the rate of 125 MW in Kohalpur of Banke and Banganga of Kapilvastu respectively. In addition, a study will be carried out to set up a 40 MW capacity battery storage plant at the rate of 20 MW in both the places.
The total estimated cost of the project is 1crore 95 lakh.
The MoU was signed by Sushil Bhatt, Chief Executive Officer of the Board and the Development Manager for South Asia of the company.
