Two youths from Jhapa have developed a blood donation app to facilitate the blood donation network through technology.
Dipesh Pokharel, a member of the app development team, says that the app has been developed to bring the patients who need blood and those who want to donate blood on the same platform.
Pokharel from Jhapa, who arrived in Japan for the study, had been preparing for the app in 2015 to make the blood donation system easier. Dipesh and his friends launched the app last October after preparing it during the lockdown.
Dipesh says that the blood donation app was developed in-house because he is a fellow developer. About 500 apps have been downloaded from the Google Play Store so far.
Dipesh plans to make the app a reliable and convenient platform for blood donation across the country. Users of this app can signup in two ways as members and donors.
Donors can donate and donate blood. However, the member does not have to donate blood and can take blood when needed and search for blood for others.
By signing up for the app, the user can enter the name and number of the nearest hospital, ambulance. The final data entry is done by the company after verifying it.
In this app, you can contact the nearest blood donors in the blood donation database by entering the district, municipality and blood group of the required place wherever you are or where the patient is.
He says that users are recommended based on the users in the database without GPS tracking. Users can use the blood donation app for free.
Dipesh says that the aim is to expand the blood donation app as a telemedicine app in the coming days.
